PWPSD welcomes Jennifer Bishop to literacy team

Peace Wapiti Public School Division (PWPSD) is excited to welcome Mrs. Jennifer Bishop as its newest Literacy Coordinator. As part of the Literacy team, Mrs. Bishop will work with schools to advance the programming and teaching of reading and writing across the division.

Mrs. Bishop, who completed the Teacher Education North program in 2015, began her educational career teaching Grade 1 at Bezanson School. She then moved to Teepee Creek School, where she’s spent the last nine years teaching a variety of grades and subjects. Since the 2022-2023 school year, Mrs. Bishop has been a member of the PWPSD Literacy Roundtable, which is where she had the opportunity to see the Literacy Coordinators in action. “Being part of the Literacy Roundtable really sparked my interest in becoming a permanent member of the Literacy team. I can’t wait to visit different PWPSD schools and talk about all things literacy!”

Mrs. Bishop says she is looking forward to collaborating with teachers and sharing her passion through professional development opportunities. She adds that she is excited to connect with new and experienced teachers and help with their instructional practices, learn to utilize assessment data, and source and implement new resources.

Mrs. Bishop will move to Central Office and begin her journey as Literacy Coordinator this fall.
